Our Founder

Holding space for deep clarity, bold vision, and meaningful connection.

Chelan Vanno brings over two decades of experience leading complex, systems-level initiatives in the federal space, supported by formal training in project management, Lean Six Sigma, and organizational strategy. Her work focuses on helping leaders and organizations navigate complexity, align people and priorities, and move forward with clarity.

In parallel with her public-sector career, Chelan has trained in somatic practices, sound-based facilitation, and leadership development, giving her a rare ability to integrate human dynamics with practical execution. This combination allows her to support leaders not only in what decisions need to be made, but in creating the conditions where better decisions are possible.

Chelan created The Portal as a dedicated space for thoughtful conversation, strategic work, and community connection — a place designed to support clarity, leadership, and meaningful progress across personal, organizational, and civic contexts.

About The Portal:

A multidimensional space for expansions, connection, and aligned living.

Located in the heart of Bagg’s Square, The Portal is a purpose-built space designed to support clarity, connection, and leadership in a rapidly changing world. It serves as a home for thoughtful gatherings, strategic conversations, and restorative practices that help individuals and organizations function at their best.

The Portal hosts a mix of classes, private sessions, workshops, retreats, and facilitated experiences. These offerings support personal wellbeing, professional development, and team alignment—whether someone is seeking space to reset, a setting for meaningful dialogue, or a container for collaborative work.

Designed with intention and flexibility, the space bridges human-centered practices with practical application. From movement, meditation, and sound-based experiences to leadership sessions and immersive team work, The Portal provides an environment where people can slow down, think clearly, and engage more fully. Through its thoughtfully designed rooms and a curated network of practitioners, The Portal supports individuals and groups in doing work that is both grounded and impactful.
